A LALIQUE CRYSTAL "TÊTE DE CHEVAL" SCULPTURE, DESIGNER MARC LALIQUE, SIGNED, LATE 20TH CENTURY, beautifully carved and polished in transparent crystal with engraved signature lower right "Lalique ® France." Height: 15" Width: 14 3/4" Depth: 5 3/4" Note: Marc Lalique (French 1900-1977) son of the founder René Lalique (French 1860-1945), originally designed the Tête de Cheval in 1953. Today it takes French sculptors several days to hand carve the 54 pounds of crystal then spend hours to do the polishing, hence the $37,000 retail price.
