finely painted to the centre with a spotted deer pulling a cart holding an iron-red baluster vase with lotus leaf cover, accompanied by Magu holding a ruyi-sceptre followed by a female attendant carrying a staff burdened with scrolls tied with ribbons, with iron-red bats flying above, all within a double underglaze-blue line repeated on the rim, the exterior painted with multiple bands of stylised shou characters, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua mark in underglaze blue within a double-circle
Diameter 38.5 cm, 15⅛ in.
Condition Report:
The dish has two lines of over-spray running from one side of the well vertically across the base and joining together on the other side of the well to the interior and exterior, an iron-spot glaze imperfection and glaze scratches.
