Comprising a large and finely painted icon likely by a Palekh trained artist depicting at center the combined themes of the Resurrection and Descent surrounded by twelve church feast days, each with corresponding inscription identifying the subject. The overall quality of painting is well above average with good shading and gilt highlighting and rendered in a traditional Palekh palette. The left border with the Holy Martyr Justin and the right border with the Holy Martyr Tatiana. In an excellent state of original preservation. 21 inches x 18 inches (53.5 x 45.5 cm.)
