A LATE 19TH CENTURY OTTOMAN KINDJAL, 49.5cm blade profusely etched with courtly figures, profile busts and calligraphy on a dense scrolling foliate ground, characteristic steel hilt with traces of silvered decoration, contained in its steel mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard. Heavy surface rust which would improve but would remain grey stained, tight fit in scabbard.
