A LEATHER TABAKO-IRE SET WITH DRAGON DECOR
Japan, c. 1910, Meiji period (1868-1912)
The tobacco pouch (tabako-ire) crafted from leather and decorated with a dragon, the dragon motif is also shown on the silvered metal kanamono (clasp). A composite and silvered metal dragon manju netsuke is attached by ten strands of metal chains secured by a metal dragon guard.
LENGTH 14 cm, HEIGHT 8.5 cm (the tabako-ire), LENGTH 7.5 cm (the kanamono)
Condition: The pouch with minor soiling and wear. Overall good condition.
