Case: platinum 950, glazed and screwed back, number 110417, diameter c. 39 mm

Accessories: pin buckle, platinum 950
The A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon Pour Le Mérite was produced between 1994 and 1998 in an edition of 150 pieces. Only 50 of them were in platinum. 145 years after the company’s foundation by his great-grandfather, Walter Lange acquired the trademark rights for A. Lange & Söhne in 1990. On 24 October 1994, the first watch collection of the newly launched brand was presented to the public. In addition to the Tourbillon “Pour Le Mérite”, the collection included the model series Lange 1, Saxonia and Arkade. Three of these models received the patented large date as an eye-catching feature. The optical model for this was the stage clock in the Dresden Opera made by Johann Christian Friedrich Gutkaes, the father-in-law of the company’s founder. Shortly after their presentation, the demand already exceeded the supply of these timepieces.
