A Large Japanese Gilt Carved Wooden Temple Panel

19th century, an impressive and immense carved wooden temple panel with openwork design, populated with auspicious symbols, large fish swimming upwards amid animated waves, dragons are carved on either side of the panel facing inwards, above are swirling clouds and in center of the scene a large temple gateway with dragon wrapped columns, the whole panel is multi layered projecting the decoration out towards the viewer, reverse is red.
