A rare and unusual Limestone sculpture of a Turk , with flowing Keffiyeh, the face with drilled almond shaped eyes and drooping moustache, 31cm high 16cm wide 18cm deep 40cm high when on stand Though dressed in more Arabic style, in the Middle Ages and later renaissance period people from the East were more commonly known as Turks or Moors Literature - Anthony Wells-Cole, Art and Decoration in Elizabethan and Jacobean England - The Influence of Continental Prints, 1558-1625 . p.258 & p.260, fig 440.
