A MOULDED QAJAR POTTERY TILE, Qajar Iran, late 19th/early 20th century, of rectangular shape, moulded and painted in cobalt blue, black, copper green, and manganese purple all on a white ground, the decoration depicting a passage of power scene with two noblemen standing upon a fallen man's body exchanging sashes, the shape reminiscent of the Achaemenid khvarenah (the aureole of royalty and royal fortune) in line with Qajar Achaemenid-revival style especially evident in silver production, buildings in the distance, framed at the top by a frieze of rosette and split palmette tendrils, mounted and framed, 29.3cm x 19.5cm x 4.4cm.
