A North Schleswig Empire partiel silver-gilt vinaigrette, gilt interior, of vase-shape, hinged upper part with pierced finial including glass stones and a memorial, body with six more memorials and two handles, also with memorials, engraved with geometric patterns and foliage, hinged bottom with balm hide and here pricked “KCP HJB 1865” with older engraving remains. Maker Martin Petersen Hommelhoff, licensed in Tønder 1796–1827. Weight 60 g. H. 9 cm.
Provenance: Christian Peter Jensen (b. Jernvedlund near Ribe 1893, d. in the late 1970s in Haderslev). He was known as “Antik-Jensen” in his antique shop in Haderslev in the 1950s-1970s. Thence by his descendants until today.
