modelled as a gentleman and his female companion in frosted glass, each standing with one hand upon their hip, he wearing a jacket and striped breeches, his left arm raised to support a basket upon his head, she wearing a bodice and striped skirt, her right arm supporting a pail upon her head, the shallow lipped trays with engraved ferns radiating from the centres. (2) 26.5cm and 27.5cm high
Originally attributed to Baccarat, an identical pair of figures as candlesticks by John Ford & Co is described by Barbara Morris, Victorian Table Glass and Ornaments (1978), p.49.
