A PAIR OF GEORGE III STYLE SILVER PLATED CANDLESTICKS, BY BARKER-ELLIS, ENGLISH, 20TH CENTURY, each with a circular drip pan on an urn form nozzle with flaring base on a tapering stem ending on a conforming base and partitioned by four gadrooned rings throughout, base rim signed "Barker-Ellis," and "MADE IN / ENGLAND." Height: 10 1/4" Diameter: 5" Note: Barker-Ellis was an English silversmith company in Birmingham with a long history under various manifestations of the name Barker from 1801 until the 1960s when it merged with Ellis & Co also of Birmingham under the name Barker Ellis Silver Co Ltd. By 1992 the company was placed into administration. It was known for quality silver and silverplate wares both in England and the USA.
Condition Report: Each is in good condition with expected light surface polishing wear, a few spots of wax residue, and normal tarnish in crevices throughout.
