each of tear-drop outline, repousse with a phoenix with lush plumage in profile in shallow relief over a ring-punched ground, the edge scalloped and raised, surmounted by a rectangular aperture for fastening, the reverse revealing a conforming bronze backing, Japanese box (5)
Height 3½ in., 8.8 cm
Condition Report:
In overall good condition with scattered small areas of corrosion and verdigris encrustation. The gilding likely refreshed. With minor surface wear and casting imperfections including a minute crack to the back of one plaque.
