A Pair of 19th Century Officer's Box Lock Percussion 25 Bore Belt Pistols by J.C. Reilly, London, each with 11cm octagonal blued steel barrel, stamped with maker's name to the top flat and with London proof marks, with foliate engraved box lock, slide safety, concealed trigger, the chequered walnut butt with silver escutcheon, the underside of the flat pommel with a further escutcheon, the left side set with blued steel belt clip and with steel captive ramrod, 23cm, with a photocopy of a telegram form with an address in Swanage, Dorset which was found in one of the barrels

. Actions work, hold at full and half cock. One action is stiff and has a replaced trigger. Both have wear to the bluing which has a brown hue. The barrels each have fine pitting, with tiny nicks to the extremities, pitting to the bore. Minor bruising to the stocks.
