The oval backs within a running coin moulded frame, with scrolled arms with acanthus leaf carved uprights on fluted tapering legs, stamped to the underside of the front seat rails, I NADAL,
Upholstered in brown leather, previously painted or gilded, 58cm wide x 50cm deep x 90cm high, (22 1/2in wide x 19 1/2in deep x 35in high)

Provenance: Sotheby's, Zurich, Fine Furniture, 5 December 1991, lot 170

Jean Nadal used a stamp with an inverted 'N' (such as seen on the offered lot), while his son Jean-Michel used the same stamp but with a normal 'N'.
