A Pair of Paris Porcelain Urns

Circa 1810

painted on one side with flowers and insects, and on the other side in the Empire taste with opposing griffins flanking a column suspending garlands.
Height 12 inches.

Note that only example bears a label for Edward Garratt Antiques to the underside. One example with a chip to the tip of one handle. Both urns with chips beneath the top rims, one under 1/2 inch and the other approximately 1 1/2 inches in length. Each with rubbing and loss to gilt around the square base and with amber-colored residue or debris to the base and inside of the bowls. One corner of the square base on one example with some loss, the example also with a chip to the shell detail on one handle. A corner of the base on the other example with fill-in gold paint, possibly a repair. The bowl of one example slightly loose and turns in its setting, though remains generally stable and intact. Having rust to the screws at the base of the bowl and underside. Additional images available upon request.
