A Paris blue-ground composite part dinner and dessert service, circa 1835-50

each piece decorated with a gilt border of oak leaves and acorns, comprising: a pair of oval soup tureens and covers, a pair of oval vegetable tureens and covers, three square-shaped serving dishes, a sauce tureen, cover and fixed stand, four tazze, two low tazze, a tiered sweetmeat stand, nine platters, in sizes, twenty-one crested dinner plates, twenty-four soup plates, twenty-two dessert plates, nineteen side plates and four saucers

Condition Report:
In detail: a pair of oval soup tureens and covers - 38cm wide: the blue is slightly paler; one tureen has overpainting to the interior which covers two filled abrasions to the interior. the other tureen is unrestored, the ground color has a slight bloom and there is some light rubbing, the covers are in good order, slightly loose fit a pair of oval vegetable tureens and covers - generally in good order. One cover has a faint stress crack to the interior below the finial and one tureen has a faint hairline crack to the interior above the joint to the foot rim three square-shaped serving dishes - 29.5cm wide max, the bowl itself 24.5x24.5cm. Each in good order but with covers lacking, all three have a stenciled iron red mark a sauce tureen, cover and fixed stand – 25cm wide: generally in good condition and has a gilded mark four tazze - each 23cm diameter, 12cm high: generally in good condition. The connecting bolts are loose and have rusted so the stands and stems rub against each other. In addition, one tazze has a blue script mark two low tazze - both in good order and have the red stenciled mark to each a tiered sweetmeat stand - the bolt is slightly loose and has rusted, otherwise in generally good order nine platters, in sizes – six of which are oval, one is 56cm wide, two are 50cm wide, one is 39cm and two are 30cm wide: the two smaller ones have gilded marks, the remainder are unmarked and in generally good condition with some slight rubbing to gilt rims and to the borders. Three rectangular shaped – each 38.5cm wide: each has a gilded mark, slight stacking wear but generally in good order. twenty-one crested dinner plates - each 25.5cm diameter: slight wear to centers from use and stacking wear but overall of good appearance, two with a small rim chip to the underside, another with a chip to the edge at 4 o'clock) twenty-four soup plates - each 24cm diameter, twenty-two of the plates are deep plates and two are slight shallower, all in generally good condition only with slight wear. The two shallower plates have gilt marks, they are quite shallow for soup plates twenty-two dessert plates - one has a foot rim chip, otherwise in good condition, two have slight flaking to the flower painting to the center. One plate has a three centimeter wide shallow chip to the underside of the rim with signs of old overpainting, one has three small chips or blemishes to the underside which have been filled with old overpainting within the foot rim; several plates with slight flaking to the center nineteen side plates – each 17.4cm diameter, ten of the plates are slightly deeper than the remainder nine: there is some scattered imperfections to the ground colour of the borders on most of the plates, some rubbing to gilt rims but overall in good order four saucers – each 13.5cm diameter: three of the four are marked in iron red, in good condition
