A QUEEN ANNE OAK CIRCULAR STOOL CIRCA 1710 Upholstered with 18th century needlework41cm high, the top 36cm diameter TOGETHER WITH AN OAK STOOL LATE 17TH CENTURY Upholstered with carpet fragment 35cm high, the top 41 x 41cm Provenance: Private Collection, LondonCondition Report: Both stools with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Various old chips and splits throughout. There is evidence of old worm to both stools.The round stool with later feet, two old metal braces to cracks on the seat rail. The underside of the rails with old tack holes and nails. The wool work upholstery with later stitching and repairs. There is some movement to the joints.The square stool with worn moquette type upholstery; a chip to one of the legs. It appears that the stool has lost its feet or the legs have been shortened at some point. The supporting chamfered blocks to the backs of the seat rails are either original or 18th century replacements. Please note we have not inspected the frame beneath the upholstery and can't comment on the condition and originality of this area.Please refer to the additional images for a visual reference of condition.
