A rare and important sosun pattah
dating: circa 1800 provenance: India, Wide, slightly curved, single-edged blade, similar to the ones of khyber knives, in damask (very clean), with rear groove and 'T'-back, a golden cartouche with inscriptions in Arabic on one side of the base. Very elegant, iron hilt partially pierced at the ends of the langets; guard with swan heads, wide disc-shaped pommel and grooved grip, all parts finely gilded with floral and geometrical motifs. Wooden, velvet-covered scabbard (later), engraved, bronze chape and with remains of gilding. length 87 cm.
