A RARE CHELSEA PORCELAIN GILT-METAL MOUNTED BONBONNIERE AND ENAMEL COVER CIRCA 1755

modeled with a water barrel and a hand scythe resting in a white and gold oval basket amongst wheat sheaves and scattered forget-me-nots beneath a ribbon inscribed TRESORT DE LA ..., the enamel cover painted on the exterior and interior with flower sprays and sprigs.
Height 1¼ in.; 3.1 cm
Width 2½ in.; 6.4 cm

Condition Report:
Approximately 1/3 of the inscribed ribbon that originally extended to one end of the barrel has been broken away; the end of the scythe has been broken and restored back: there is a spot of wear to the black enamel of the blade; and there is a fine haircrack to the enamel cover.
