A RARE STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE PLATE CIRCA 1755

transfer-printed in red, probably in Battersea, after François Boucher, with a pair of lovers seated in a garden spied upon by 'Paul Pry' within a turquoise-enamelled diaper-molded border on the shaped rim.
Diameter 9⅛ in.
23 cm

Condition Report:
Minor approximate 1/4-in. flat chip to the rim edge and a fine 1-in. haircrack extending from the inner rim edge into the cavetto too the edge of the transfer-print. Some minor wear to the transfer-printed decoration.
