A RUSSIAN ICON MOTHER OF GOD BOGOLYUBSKAYA, MOSCOW, 19TH CENTURY, painted in egg tempera colors on board and with kovcheg centering the nicely detailed Mother of God standing with gilt halo and wearing golden brown head scarf over long shawl and blue robe, while holding an open inscribed scroll and floating on puffy clouds before a kremlin complex, above nine kneeling saints beneath a cloud opening top right with Christ blessing and holding an open inscribed scroll. 12" x 10 1/2" Provenance: Estate of Robert William Guynn, Houston, Texas.
