A Roman Republic marble head of a man, c. 1st Century BC, carved in the veristic style of the late Republic, his eyes wide and realistic facial details noted. The head is well-preserved with scattered mineral deposits, and overall shows great natural details. H: 10 1/2 in (26.8 cm). Mounted on a heavy base. Ex Southern California private collection.
