A Roman marble head of a man, 1st - 2nd Century, with handsome features, his hair in beautiful curls tied atop his head behind a head band. The nose with antique restoration and the eyes recarved to apparently take some form of inlay. H: 5 3/4 in (14.5 cm). On nice antique stone base. Ex collection of William H. Stokes (of William H. Stokes Antiques, Cirencester, UK), acquired prior to 1979.
