A SELJUK BRONZE CANDLESTICK, KHURASSAN 12TH-13TH CENTURY
A bronze candlestick with a broad conical base tapers upward to a slender, rounded neck, ending in a smaller opening designed to hold a candle. The main body features elaborate geometric and arabesque patterns, with these interwoven designs creating a delicate lattice effect. Three bands are inscribed on the surface with angular thuluth script.
Inscriptions: al-‘izz al-da’im wa al-iqbal al-salim al-dawlah al-‘afiyah li-sahibihi — "Perpetual glory, well-being, generosity, and wealth to its owner."
