A SERIES OF FOUR (4) ARMORIAL CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN PLATTERS FOR THE IRISH MARKET
CHINA BY COMMAND, QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Adorned in famille rose enamels with a large central coat of arms with a central shield with a crest being a standing lion holding between the forepaws a regal crown proper, with supporters being “Two lions rampant guardant Or, each supporting a banner erect Argent, charged with a cross Gules”, with a motto in Latin language reading “Auspicio regis et senatus angliæ”, lit. “Under the auspices of the King and the Senate of England”. Each bears a label to the below.
