A SET OF 4 LARGE PAINTED FAUTEUILS "EN CABRIOLET"

Louis XVI, signed G. IACOB (Georges Jacob, maître 1765), Paris, ca. 1770.

Beech, fluted and opulently carved with garlands, pearl beading, rosettes and decorative frieze, and painted white/light blue. Light grey silk cover, partly damaged.

60 × 53 × 45 × 95 cm.

G. Jacob is the founder of the probably most important dynasty of seating furniture manufacturers of the late 18th century.
