Sugata (configuration): shobu-zukuri (simple ridge line), copper habaki (collar) with a breaking wave design
Hamon (tempering pattern): appears to be ko-midare (small irregular) but details are obscured by condition
Nakago (tang): mumei (unsigned) with a single mekugi-ana (peg hole) and ha-agari kurijiri (slanting end)
Nagasa (length): 32.1 cm, moto-haba (width at the base of the blade) 2.6 cm, saki-haba (width at the point) 1.7 cm
Koshirae: black lacquered saya (scabbard) with an iron kojiri (end) with a gold floral inlay and two copper kodzuka (small knives), mumei (unsigned) round iron tsuba (hand guard), tsuka (handle) with black ito (thread) over white samé (ray skin), the menuki (hilt ornaments) are a gilt floral design and the fuchi-kashira (ornaments at each end of the handle) are shakudo-nanako (black alloy with small dotted surface) and with pine over water design
