A SWISS WALNUT AND BURR WALNUT THREE-TIER CABINET, THIRD QUARTER 17TH CENTURY

with a drawer above a pair of panelled doors enclosing shelves, the central section with a slide and two further doors enclosing a fitted interior of drawers around a cupboard, the lower tier with a chest of two long and three short drawers, the sides with steel carrying handles, with a paper label part printed LUCERNE to the reverse
230cm. high, 130cm. wide, 59cm. deep; 7ft. 6½in., 4ft. 3in., 1ft. 11¼in.

Condition Report:
=The walnut is faded but has a lovely surface and patination. This impressive piece with typical old marks and scratches throughout. Detached and losses to mouldings. It come apart into three pieces. Some metalwork replaced including the lock of the upper section. Some metal work with rust. Some signs of plant pot watermarks to flat surface - should be easily polished out. Evidence of old worm and associated damage from this. Patches to veneers of sides of upper sections (from shelf fixing). Black marks. Separations to some elements. An impressive piece which is very decorative and of great charm. The lower section may well have had bun feet, these have not been post 1916 as it is illustrated in 1916 without in Country Life.
