A Set of Five Italian Various Woods Inlaid Chairs

Lombardo-Venetian, Late 16th Century

comprising two armchairs and three side chairs.
Height of armchair 48 3/4 inches.
Continental Furniture
Overall sturdy, usable condition with some looseness in the joints. One chair has a section of its stretcher trim detached but present. Another chair has a similar piece of trim detached but present. All chairs with varying worm holes, cracks, minor repairs, sections of missing carved trim or inlay, and discoloration/fading/water spots consistent with age. Legs of some chairs have been extended with later wood from their original form, either to repair deterioration or to raise the seat height. Later metal brackets added to undersides of seats and joined to legs. One seat possibly a 19th or 20th century replacement. Additional photos available.
