A Sevres porcelain bleu nouveau-ground cup (gobelet litron) and a Sèvres porcelain green-ground saucer, c.1760-76, the cup with blue foliate interlaced Ls enclosing date letter Y for 1776 above painter’s mark of five dots for Jacques Fontaine and gilder’s B mark for Jean-Pierre Boulanger, the saucer with blue interlaced Ls enclosing date letter g for 1760 and painter’s mark of a caduceus for Jean Bouchet, the cup, 2nd size, reserved with an oval panel painted with a boy and girl in landscape, playing with a parrot tethered by a string above them, below a gilt foliate and trelliswork border, the saucer painted with a vignette of a figure in landscape before a river with buildings beyond within a gilt foliate border, the rim with a gilt dentil and foliate garland border, height of cup - 6.7cm high, diameter of saucer - 13.2cm diameter (2) Provenance: Works of Art from the Schroder Collection. Note: Note: Jacques Fontaine was active as a painter at the Sevres factory from 1752 until 1807, specialising in figures, cameos, patterns and flowers.
A deep scratch to the inside of the cup, and two scratches to the exterior of the saucer. Further minor scratches to the ground of each item. Decorative scene of each item is undisturbed. The saucer has evidence of restoration to the underside
