A Third Estate Carpet. A Chinese Classic

Last of three fine Chinese hand loomed , larger sized carpets, originally from a South Hampton estate, a few high value rugs from European and NY sources. This one of the second quarter of the last century , more traditional, not as rare. With a silvery slate grey/blue ground, both borders and field incorporating weavings of antique porcelains holding sprays of flowers. Also, it lies flat, images taken in haste. A very supple weaving, it folds like a limp rag, good solid condition. 10 ft. 8" x 8'
