A VICTORIAN SILVER SNUFF BOX, by Frederick Marson, Birmingham 1845, of large proportions, rectangular with serpentine sides, engine-turned and engraved decoration, the hinged lid with cast scroll borders, the interior with engraved inscription 'This Box and Silver Salver was presented To Mr. Wm. Kirton by the Subscribers of the LONDON COFFEE AND EATING HOUSE KEEPERS ASSOCIATION As a token of their Esteem & regard for the zeal, ability & liberality displayed by him during the time he fulfilled the Offices of VICE PRESIDENT and PRESIDENT, and for his valuable services upon all occasions to advance the interests of the Association, October 1845', Kirton’s monogram engraved to the exterior. 9cm wide, 4.9 troy ounces
