A Victorian Silver Two-Handled Cup by Elkington and Co. Ltd., London, 1893

in the George II style, inverted bell-shaped and on spreading foot, the sides chased with foliage scrolls and flowers and with two leaf-capped scroll handles, each side with cartouche with later inscription 19.5cm high, 29oz 19dwt, 931gr The inscriptions read 'Rockwood Handicap April 9th 1904' and 'Won by "Jim Dandy" 12 St'.

Fully marked near handle. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wera, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the high points and the engraving. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
