A Victorian sapphire and diamond brooch.
Designed as a rose and old-cut diamond stylised foliate spray, suspending a pear-shape sapphire drop with diamond highlights, with removable brooch fitting and hinged pendant fitting, total diamond weight approx. 1.10ct - 1.50ct, length 4.7cm.
Condition Report: Weight approx. 8g. Overall condition good. Surface scratches/wear, minor dents and some discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. Evidence of possible repair work/ alterations, some minor solder to the reverse. Diamonds well matched, bright and lively. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight estimation. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Diamonds generally with small inclusions under 10x loupe and some small nicks. Sapphire is a deep medium blue hue, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions. Sapphire in good condition with minor abrasions.
