A Victorian silver vinaigrette, of serpentine form, the whole engraved with foliate scroll decoration, the hinged cover (a/f) with central plain cartouche, and opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior with pierced foliate grille (a/f). Hallmarked Robert Thornton, Birmingham 1876. Length 1.5" (3.75cm), weight 21.9 grams.

Condition Report:
- Displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
- Hinge to lid partially broken resulting in loose lid and hinge to grille completely broken. Both in need of repair.
- Some residue from previous silver polish.
- Hallmarks and maker's marks clear and legible.
