A Victorian sterling silver coffee pot, London 1846 by Richard and George Burrows
Of rounded form with incurved panels and a domed rim, all raised upon four rocaille scroll bracket feet. The curved panelled spout opposite a C scroll handle with ivory insulators pinned to scroll sockets. The hinged truncated conical lid surmounted by a detachable cast finial of an artichoke with acanthus leaves. The body, lid, spout, and handle with engraved decoration of foliate scrolls and lattice work reserves, a vacant cartouche to each side. Fully marked underneath, part-marked to the handle, lid and finials, the retaining nut with lion passant only.
