A Victorian sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, Birmingham 1871 by Elkington and Co Comprising a teapot, coffee pot, milk jug and twin handled pedestal sugar bowl. Each of compressed circular form or ovoid form, upon a domed circular foot. The central girdle with applied guilloche band. The pots with two-section cast spouts with scroll work junctions opposite a reeded loop handle with turned ivory insulators pinned to conforming sockets. The hinged domed lids surmounted by detachable cast finials flower head and leaf finials. The bodies with engraved strapwork arabesque vignettes, one side with a vacant cartouche to each. The sugar bowl and milk jug with gilt interiors. Each fully marked underneath or to rim, part-marked underneath sugar bowl and to inside of lids, the finials unmarked.
