Japan, late Edo period (shinshintô period), length 37.5 cm (blade), 56.5 cm (total).
Hirazukuri style blade in slight sakizori form, with blood groove. Originally presumably suguha hami, itame hada. Unsigned. Tsuba decorated with pine, torii- and samurai motivs on nanako ground, flower themed menuki and fuchi, and dragon kozuka. No NBTHK papers. Minor damages.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, purchased in Switzerland before 1920, by repute. Thereafter Swiss art market.
