A WILLIAM & MARY WALNUT, OLIVEWOOD OYSTER VENEERED AND LABURNUM CABINET ON CHEST CIRCA 1690 Incorporating holly banding and marquetry 145.5cm high, 94cm wide, 50cm deep Please note, this should measure '145.5cm high' and not as originally printed in the catalogue. Condition Report: Please note, it appears that the cabinet and base are associated and brought together to form this piece. There are no mouldings to the base to hold the cabinet in position but it sits atop it well. The marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits, chips and some losses. Some larger old cracks to the doors. Various old repairs - see images. Metal ware is later replaced but is in period taste. The metal ware varies between the cabinet and base. No keys are present but all locks are open. Feet are old replacements. The expected evidence of old worm in areas. Backboard to the cabinet are possibly old replacements. Linings to the drawer of the cornice are later replacements. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
