A West Indian copper alloy Jain altar of Ambika. Gujarat. Dated SV 1551/1496 AD

Seated on a stool, with her left knee supported by a lion, carrying a child with her left primary hand, while another stands by her side, and holding a goad and a noose in her secondary hands; above her in the prabhamandala a small tirthankara figure. Inscription and date on the back.
Size: Height 12.2 cm
Condition: One tip of the prabhamandala missing, remnants of pigment, patina, smoothed surface.
