A beautiful Roman bronze figure of Aphrodite

A beautiful Roman bronze figure of Aphrodite, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, the goddess of love and beauty is depicted nude standing at circular base, her right hand extended and left clutching a lock of her hair. Her features are extremely well detailed with large eyes and hair styled back in wives behind a large diadem to a coiled plait at the nape of her neck. The figure is extremely well-preserved and still retains the original silver necklace of twisted wire. H: 5 3/4 in (14.6 cm). Professionally cleaned with a lovely mottled patina.
