The inro carved in relief to one side with a tiger, the reverse with a two-line inscription of Chinese proverb from the Yijing (Book of Changes), signed JC Farnham 1997; the netsuke of lacquered boxwood in the form of an inkstick, signed JC; with an ojime of yew inlaid with a silver moon, signed JC; with the artist's reference cards for each element. The inro: 11.9cm high (4 5/8in); the netsuke: 5.8cm x 2.1cm (2¼in x 7/8in). (4).
