A bronze and copper inlaid figure of Buddha Maravijaya. Laos. Around 17th century

Seated in meditation on a stepped base with openwork in a triangular pattern. The right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, the left resting in the lap in dhyana mudra. Elongated head with stylised facial features, pointed curls, and a tall, applied flame ornament above the ushnisha. Pupils of black glass. A short engraved inscription at the front.
