A bronze idol of Astarte, Eastern Mediterranean, c. 1400 - 1000 BC, with large eyes and nose, coifs of hair to sides of face. She stands with hands beneath her breasts and she wears a wrapped girdle. 4 7/8 in (12.3 cm). Casting flaw on left elbow, some cleaning. Mounted on an old stand. Ex Wright collection, New York.
