A bronze palanquin hook. Cambodia. Angkor Vat or Bayon period, 12/13th century
In shape of Garuda with spread-out wings and a naga whose body forms the actual hook ending in a half figure of a deity, in the upper section foliage, small Garuda heads and a large jewel. Dark grey patina. Mounted in perspex stand.
