Chenghua four-character mark, 18th century
Of 'olive stone' form, finely carved in relief with a scrolling lotus meander between bands of lappets at the foot and mouth rims, covered in a thick Longquan-style glaze of a pea-green colour, thinning to a paler hue at the edges of the moulded design, wood stand and fitted early 20th century wood box. 35cm (13 3/4in) high (3).

Compare with a similar 'peony scrolls' jar, dated 18th to 19th century, sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 5 April 2016, lot 116. See another jar carved with comparable lotus scrolls and lappets, dated early 18th century, sold at Christie's London, 13 November 2015, lot 1288.
