A carved giltwood and marble inset urn stand, in George II style, 19th century, the scrolled supports united by swags, 41cm high, 45cm wide, 45cm deep overall
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, chips, losses, flaking to the gilt finish in some places, revealing underlying timber in places, also areas of wear revealing the underlying bole in places also, the marble has been glued in places via later wooden brackets to the underside and frame, some signs of old glue where these brackets may have been moved or re-stuck at some point, the turned feet appear later applied and are held on by screws, Some further smaller and later blocks to the frame in places too, overall it is stable Some chips and losses to the edges of the marble too, this may well be associated to the frame, some old splits and cracks and openings to joints
