A carved oak three panelled coffer, late 17th century and later decorated, 76cm high, 144cm wide, 62cm deepProvenance: Little Wolford Manor, WarwickshireCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useOld splits and cracks, some chips and losses, The top with old marks and stains, the centre of the top with a circular water mark stain, another to one rear cornerThe candlebox is still present to one side, there is later timber supporting the lid, there has also been a chain fitted previously to hold the lid to the base - this is missing only the brackets remain, the hinges have had leather covers fitted over them at some point.The hinges and lock strap appear to be originalAs catalogued the decoration appears to be later applied, Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
