A cased Victorian silver gilt christening set.

A cased Victorian silver gilt christening set, comprising knife, fork and spoon, each handle with embossed stylised foliate decoration leading to vacant panels, the fork and spoon with foliate picture backs. Hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams), London 1821. Length of knife 7.5" (19cm). Total gross weight 3.7ozt (116 grams).

Condition Report:
- Items displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.
- Some areas of tarnishing that would benefit from a clean and polish. Some gilt worn off.
- Some dints and nicks to fork tines, spoon bowl rim and knife blade.
- Fork tines with wear and slightly misshapen.
- End of knife similarly slightly worn down. Slight gap between blade and ferrule.
- Patches of discolouration to terminals of cutlery suggest they may have had engravings removed.
- Knife probably with filled handle.
- Fitted case with surface wear, marks and scratches, but in overall good working order.
- Hallmarks and maker's marks worn but legible.
